Giving garlic to dogs is a very wise decision and I applaud you for thinking about it, however, do you know why?
Well, in this post, I’m going to give you the reasons and the benefits why giving garlic to dogs is very healthy and also extremely helpful, and most importantly, I’m going to give you the right amount you need to always stick to in order to get fantastic results.
- The first benefit of giving garlic to dogs is reducing their cardiovascular risks.
I know that this idea is going to sound very strange and somehow funny to most of you, but it’s the reality nowadays!
It’s because our dogs tend to be inactive/indoor most of the time and enjoy a diet rich saturated fats and rich unhealthy foods!
They too will develop cardio vascular diseases, and I’m sure that you have already heard of dogs having high blood pressure and even suffering from strokes and dying!
Well, it’s the truth, when you give your dog garlic, because it’s highly protective when it comes to cardiovascular health, it’s going to increase its protection and keep it away from harm.
This is because garlic contains huge amounts of antioxidants which are going to stop cholesterol molecules from oxidizing and clogging their arteries and blood vessels.
- The second benefit is improving their furs.
If you would like your dog to have fantastic fur, then, you need to get rid of as many parasites inside its system as possible, and the best way to do so is to give it garlic, I will explain to you later on how much you need in order to have amazing effects.
You should also know that garlic contains large amounts of antiparasitic and antibacterial compounds, which is the reason why it’s going to help clear your dog’s fur very quickly.
- The third benefit is preventing cancer.
This was the reason why we started giving our German Shepherd one garlic clove a day: to prevent cancer!
I’m sure that this is going to sound strange, but dogs are susceptible to getting tumors and cancers as well.
It’s because they now live for a very long time with us and thanks to our bad diets and spoiling them, they get huge amounts of toxins and difference chemical compounds from our homes and from the environment as well, just like us, and I have already talked about the health benefits of garlic when it comes to cancer prevention in many of my previous posts, which I highly recommend that you read.
So, garlic contains huge amounts of antioxidants, most importantly, anti-inflammatory compounds, these are responsible for not only protecting your dog’s DNA from damages, which is going to cause healthy normal cells to become cancerous, but garlic also contains many natural organic compounds which are going to cause cancer cell apotheosis, in other words, cancer cells are going to commit suicide!
Which is just amazing if you ask me.
- The next benefit is getting rid of parasites in its intestines.
Your dog needs colon cleansing as well!
You should also remember that because your dog is probably eating lots of junk food on a daily basis, he or she is probably constipated and having a difficult time dealing with stomach and intestinal gas and other issues as well.
The best way to relieve this is to stop giving your dog junk food in the first place and give him or her garlic as it’s going to get rid of intestinal parasites very quickly and most importantly, cleanse its colon.
- And the fifth benefit is getting rid of fleas and other bugs.
This is the most known benefit of giving garlic to dogs: getting rid of fleas and other bugs.
And it’s true, when you give your dog a good amount of garlic, its terrible smell is going to penetrate deep into his bloodstream and vital organs as well, and soon, it’s going to get out of his skin, in other words, bugs and flees are going to have a very difficult time thriving on your dog’s fur!
- Now, how much garlic should you give your dog?
This is a very important question.
So let me give you the number I have found to be amazing: one clove a day, slightly pressed and minced.
This is the most important thing you need to take from this post: never exceed one garlic clove a day, and if you have a small dog, like a Havanese for example, which is my favorite dog breed of all time after the German Shepherd, then, never exceed a quarter of a clove, it’s more than enough.
And if you have a large dog, like in our home, we have a big fifty kilograms German Shepherd, then, you can give him up to one clove a day, trust me, it will improve his blood circulation, cancer prevention, and most importantly, it’s going to increase his vitality and energy levels tremendously.
